Open to new opportunities

Enterprise banking redesign across Germany and the US.

2018-2022 GALE Partners Denkwerk

Santander is one of the world's largest financial institutions. Over four years, I worked across two separate engagements: first at denkwerk in Germany, then at GALE in the US — helping translate Santander's evolving brand direction into coherent, scalable digital experiences across two very different markets.

In Germany, Santander had undergone a brand refresh led by Interbrand and needed its digital ecosystem to follow. The platforms were inconsistent and difficult to scale. As a UI Designer at denkwerk, I contributed to the early stages of that work — visual explorations for the web platform, prototyping, and translating designs to Android — helping lay the groundwork for a unified design system across iOS, Android and web.

In the US, the challenge was different. Santander needed elevated digital experiences for its private client and commercial banking products — balancing regulatory clarity with genuine brand ambition. At GALE Partners, I led art direction for product-specific landing pages and digital campaigns, working closely with UX designers, PMs and developers to ensure visual coherence across a complex, multi-market product suite.

Financial platforms operate under real constraints: regulatory requirements, legacy systems, complex product structures. The work in both markets was about finding the space to do meaningful design within those constraints — and building something that could scale.

The result was a unified design system underpinning Santander Germany's mobile and web platforms, and modernised landing experiences for Santander US — a consistent visual language across two markets, built to last.
